Banksters (season 1)

Banksters is a German crime thriller series that follows Yusuf, a model bank apprentice whose life collapses when he is suddenly arrested in 2004 on a football pitch and accused of taking part in a string of violent bank robberies over the course of a year, with more than a million euros stolen in total. Facing a long prison sentence unless he exposes his accomplices and returns the missing money, Yusuf discovers that his own share of the loot has vanished and that someone close has betrayed him, forcing him to decide how far he is willing to go to protect his friends and his family. As investigators dig deeper, the season moves between interrogation rooms, the tense preparations for the heists and Yusuf's earlier days as a promising trainee, gradually revealing how an ordinary young banker became a bank robber and how loyalty, greed and the lure of easy money can destroy lives.
