Death Valley is a six-part BBC One crime mystery drama with a comedic twist, set against the scenic backdrop of rural Wales. The series stars Timothy Spall as John Chapel, an eccentric and curmudgeonly retired actor best known for playing a fictional detective in the TV show Caesar. He is unexpectedly paired with Gwyneth Keyworth's character, DS Janie Mallowan, a sharp and determined Welsh detective sergeant eager to prove herself.The story begins when John's neighbor is murdered, drawing John into real-life crime-solving alongside Janie. Despite their clashing personalities - John's dramatic flair and odd habits contrasting with Janie's calm, methodical approach - the pair form an unlikely but effective investigative team.
