Millie-Jean Black is a former Scotland Yard detective who, after being discharged, returns to her native Jamaica, takes a job with the local police force, and begins searching for missing persons. She is tasked with finding and rescuing a sister and brother from her secret past who cannot be saved, and ends up on the path to solving an international mystery.
