House of David (season 1)

The House of David chronicles the rise of the biblical figure David, who eventually becomes Israel's most famous and celebrated king. The series tells how the once powerful King Saul becomes a victim of his own pride. At God's direction, the prophet Samuel anoints an unlikely, rejected teenager to be the new king. When Saul loses control of his kingdom, David embarks on a journey to discover and fulfill his destiny, going through love, loss, and violence in the court of the very man he is destined to replace. When one leader falls, another must rise.
