Mammoth (season 2)

Season 2 of Mammoth continues the story of Tony Mammoth, a former 1970s PE teacher who returned to life decades after being lost in an avalanche and is still trying to find his place in the modern world alongside his family and colleagues. As the new episodes begin, Tony faces a health scare that pushes him to rethink his lifestyle, and in the process he throws himself into fitness again, challenges an old rival and joins an over seventies football team, turning this midlife crisis into a new quest for glory on the pitch. At the same time, his daughter Mel considers a bold career change and quits her office job to follow a creative dream, while her son Theo grows up fast, experiments with a rebellious image and prepares for a milestone eighteenth birthday that forces the whole family to confront how quickly time has moved on since Tony vanished in the seventies. Across the season Tony tries to be a better father and grandfather but often becomes overprotective, especially when Mel starts dating again and introduces a charming new man who unexpectedly becomes Tony's unlikely friend and partner in mischief. His misguided attempts to help at school also escalate when the stressed headteacher steps aside and a younger and more ambitious temporary head arrives, prompting Tony to interfere in school politics to protect his easygoing version of PE and to cling to the simple routines that make sense to him in a confusing century. Through all the chaos, the season balances warm family moments with culture clash comedy, as Tony's seventies swagger, old school views and sincere loyalty collide with social media, wellness trends and modern work pressures, creating a second chapter that is bigger, more emotional and even more chaotic than his first year back from the ice.
