Miss Austen (season 1)

The project is based on Jill Hornby's novel of the same name, published in 2020, which focuses on the relationship between the writer Jane Austen and her older sister Cassandra. They are known to have been very friendly right up until Jane's death in 1817 at the age of 41. During her lifetime she wrote over 3,000 letters and biographical notes, most of which were addressed to her older sister, but in 1843 Cassandra destroyed most of them or censored them (cutting out fragments). Her act is still a mystery; perhaps she did not want Jane's critical remarks to relatives, neighbors, and friends to become public knowledge or to younger members of the family. As a result, Austen biographers found it very difficult to research her life and work. The action of the series will take place in 1830.
