PONIES (season 1)

Ponies season 1 is set in Moscow in 1977 and follows two underestimated secretaries at the American embassy whose lives are shattered when their husbands die under mysterious circumstances in the USSR. Drawn into the world of espionage, Bea, an over educated Russian speaking daughter of Soviet immigrants, and Twila, a fearless small town girl, are recruited as CIA operatives and quickly discover that their grief is tied to a larger Cold War conspiracy. As they learn to navigate dangerous assignments and manipulate the fact that no one considers them important, the women use their new roles to get close to high ranking KGB figures and pursue the truth about who killed their husbands and why.
