Prisoner 951 (season 1)

Season 1 of Prisoner 951 is a four part factual drama that follows British Iranian citizen Nazanin Zaghari Ratcliffe from her arrest at Tehran airport in 2016 through to her release six years later and return to the United Kingdom. Separated from her young daughter and accused of spying, Nazanin is held in Iranian prisons under harsh conditions, while her case becomes entangled in a long running political dispute between Iran and the British government. The season also focuses on her husband Richard in London, who refuses to stay silent and launches a determined campaign to free her using the media, public protests and diplomatic pressure. As time passes, the drama shows both the public battle that plays out in front of cameras and the private emotional toll on the couple and their family, highlighting how Nazanin is treated as a bargaining chip in international negotiations.
