Sunny (season 1)

Susie is an American woman living in Kyoto, Japan, whose life changes when her husband and son disappear in a mysterious plane crash. As a consolation, she receives Sonny, one of a new class of domestic robots created by her husband's electronics company. Although at first Susie resents Sonny's attempts to fill the void in her life, an unexpected friendship gradually develops between them.
