The Abandons (season 1)

Season 1 of The Abandons is a western drama about two very different families whose lives collide in the Washington Territory in 1854. The story follows Fiona Nolan, an Irish woman who cannot have children and builds a makeshift family by adopting orphans, as she fights to keep their land in a rough frontier world. Opposite her stands Constance Van Ness, the ambitious head of a wealthy dynasty, who wants to seize a silver rich tract of land and expand her power. Their struggle over Jasper Hollow pulls both households into a vicious conflict where class prejudice, greed and frontier lawlessness shape every decision. Across the season the series weaves gunfights, family loyalty, forbidden romance and dark secrets into a story about how far people will go to protect those they consider their own.
