This is a new Sundance project starring completely deaf actors Shoshannah Stern and Josh Feldman. Stern is known for her supporting roles in Weeds and Supernatural. Now she is a show runner and a leading lady. She stars as Kate whose long and strong friendship with Michael is being tested hardly. Indie producer Christine Vachon (Boys Dont Cry) helps to implement the project. Also you will see Marlee Matlin, the only deaf Oscar winner for Children of a Lesser God. The authors claim This Close will be the first American TV show that shows the deaf community as it is. There will be six half-hour episodes in the first season.
