Season 1 of the Acorn TV series Under the Vines follows two very different city dwellers, Daisy Munroe, an Australian socialite, and Louis Oakley, a UK lawyer, who unexpectedly inherit Oakley Wines, a struggling vineyard in rural New Zealand's picturesque Central Otago region. Neither has any experience in winemaking or rural life, and initially they plan to sell the vineyard quickly. However, as they confront the dilapidated estate and the challenges of reviving the business, their attitudes start to shift. They must navigate their contrasting personalities, financial troubles, and the skepticism of the local wine community while wrestling with personal crises.
