Virdee (season 1)

In Bradford, Detective Harry Virdee, a cop facing turmoil in his personal life, is tasked with tracking down a serial killer who is targeting the Asian community. The series delves into Harry's struggle to reconcile with his Sikh family, who disowned him for marrying a Muslim woman, Saima. As he navigates this personal conflict, he must also confront the escalating violence in his city. The situation intensifies when the killer kidnaps a local MP's daughter, leading Harry to seek assistance from his brother-in-law Riaz, a drug kingpin. This alliance forces Harry to make difficult choices between saving his family and protecting his city. The six-part crime thriller, adapted from AA Dhand's crime novels, is set to premiere on February 10 on BBC One and BBC iPlayer. Staz Nair stars as Detective Harry Virdee, with Aysha Kala as his wife, Saima. The series also features Elizabeth Berrington, Danyal Ismail, Kulvinder Ghir, and Sudha Bhuchar. The show's theme music is composed by Hans Zimmer and James Everingham.
