Grotesquerie (season 1)

Detective Lois Tryon encounters a series of gruesome crimes in a small town, and each trail leads her closer and closer to the source of the evil. Suddenly she realizes that the crimes concern her personally, and something or someone is watching her every move with the intention of taunting her. The timing of the investigation parallels the inner battles of Lois, who struggles not only with the evil on the streets, but also with her own inner demons. Realizing she needs help, Lois turns to her sister Megan, a nun and journalist with the Catholic Guardian newspaper, to bring in additional resources and understand the depth of the conspiracy enveloping the small town. Increasingly alone in her investigation, Lois struggles not to drown in a sea of mystery and intrigue, staying afloat with the support of her family and her belief in justice. Each new twist and turn makes the web of secrets thicker, but Lois is determined to get to the truth, even if it means facing the darkest corners of her soul and trenching on the worst horrors.rn
