King & Conqueror (season 1)

After the death of King Edward in 1066, Harold Godwinson, Earl of Wessex, ascends to the throne of England. However, William, Duke of Normandy, is convinced that Edward had promised the crown to him. A political and military confrontation ensues, culminating in the Battle of Hastings - a decisive moment that shaped the future of British history. The plot depicts not only the large-scale clash of armies, but also the internal drama of the characters - their doubts, betrayals, and ambitions. Harold tries to preserve the unity of the country, while William acts coolly and calculatingly.
