Leonardo 2021 (season 1)

This historical drama series explores the early life and rise of Leonardo da Vinci in fifteenth century Italy. The story follows him from his days as an apprentice in the workshop of Andrea del Verrocchio in Florence, where his exceptional talent begins to emerge. As Leonardo develops his skills as a painter, engineer and inventor, he becomes involved with powerful patrons and dangerous intrigues at the courts of Milan and Florence. The first season focuses on his complex relationships, including his bond with the model Caterina da Cremona, his rivalry and camaraderie with fellow artists, and his constant struggle to reconcile art, science and faith. Through investigations into a mysterious accusation against him, the narrative moves between past and present, gradually revealing the truth about Leonardo's character, his obsessions and the hidden stories behind some of his most famous works.
