An experienced specialist and a likable man named Max Goodwin becomes a dean of medicine of the oldest state hospital in the USA New Amsterdam. Since taking up his appointment, he starts a war against the bureaucracy. His target is to regain the former glory and prestige of the hospital that is understaffed now.
