Dr. Harry Wenderspiegl is a hermit in a small town in Colorado. Wenderspiegl is also an alien who actually fell to Earth and took over the doctor's body. When the doctor is killed, however, the alien is forced to postpone his mission to return home and take the dead man's place. Living in his new body, he gradually begins to question whether or not humans are worth saving.
