In the life of the main heroine of the show Diane Lockhart a terrible event happens. Due a financial fraud she loses every last dime from her savings account. Diane has nothing to do but to leave the legal firm named Lockhart & Lee. Her goddaughter Maia, who is a young lawyer, is not in the clear by a long shot. They are together to find the where they can keep doing the things they like. And fate presents them with a grand opportunity, during the searching the women face the firm of Lucca Quinn that later turn into a place to stay for the both women.
