Trigger (season 1)

Trigger is a 2025 South Korean Netflix original series written and directed by Kwon Oh-seung. The show is set in a dystopian near-future South Korea, a country that has prided itself on strict gun control and a near-total absence of firearms. This fragile peace is shattered when illegal, military-grade weapons begin to flood the nation, leading to a sudden surge in gun violence and social unrest. At the heart of the story is Lee Do, a principled police detective and former military sniper played by Kim Nam-gil. Haunted by his past and resolved to avoid using firearms, Do is drawn back into violence as he investigates the string of deadly incidents linked to the illicit influx of guns. His unlikely counterpart is Moon Baek, played by Kim Young-kwang - a mysterious, cunning figure with hidden motives who becomes entangled in the chaos, operating between the lines of law and criminality.
