Hostage (season 1)

Hostage is a five-part British political thriller limited series premiering on Netflix on August 21, 2025. The story unfolds during a high-stakes international summit when the British Prime Minister's husband is kidnapped and the visiting French President is blackmailed. These two leaders - Prime Minister Abigail Dalton (played by Suranne Jones) and President Vivienne Toussaint (played by Julie Delpy) - are thrust into a tense rivalry, forced to make unimaginable choices as they attempt to uncover the conspiracy threatening both their countries and their personal lives. The series is written by Matt Charman, known for his work on Bridge of Spies and Treason. Suranne Jones not only leads the cast but also serves as an executive producer. The supporting cast includes Corey Mylchreest, Lucian Msamati, Ashley Thomas, James Cosmo, Martin McCann, and Jehnny Beth.
