Smoke (season 1)

The show is inspired by true events and the popular podcast Firebug. The story centers on the hunt for two serial arsonists who sow chaos across a city, challenging law enforcement at every turn. The series follows arson investigator Dave Gudsen (Taron Egerton) and troubled police detective Michelle Calderone (Jurnee Smollett) as they team up to pursue a pair of elusive and dangerous serial arsonists. As the fires escalate, the investigators are drawn into a complex web of clues, including a mysterious manuscript that may be either a work of fiction or a chilling confession from the arsonist himself. The narrative is set against the backdrop of Southern California in the 1990s, inspired by real-life cases of serial arson that terrorized the region.
