Bergerac (season 2)

Season 2 of Bergerac finds Jim Bergerac a few months after the events of the first season, trying to rebuild his life on the island of Jersey. He is sober, back at work as a detective, and tentatively starting to date again, encouraged by his daughter Kim and his mother-in-law Charlie, who has also begun a new relationship. The opening episode introduces Nicola, a visitor to the island who briefly brightens Jim's personal life, only to become unexpectedly entangled in his next major investigation. The central case of the season begins when a groom is found murdered in his hotel room on the night of his wedding, turning the joyous celebration into a tense, multi-episode investigation. Bergerac must examine every guest at the reception, chasing hidden motives and long-held resentments among the wealthy and privileged families of Jersey. As the plot unfolds, old secrets, past grudges and family betrayals come to the surface, forcing Jim to confront both the darkness inside the community and his own inner demons.
