A particularly important assignment proved dramatic for policeman Mike Long: he was shot in the head on the spot. Half dead, barely breathing, he was brought to the family castle by Wilton Knight, a brilliant inventor, millionaire, philanthropist. Declaring the employee dead, the police issued an order of dismissal on grounds of death. So the guy officially ceased to exist, after which everyone forgot about him.
