The Hardacres (season 2)

In the second season of The Hardacres the family moves into 1895 as they continue to adjust to their new wealth and status in Yorkshire society. Modernity arrives at Hardacre Hall with electricity new social ideas and changing relationships which test their values and priorities. Mary dedicates herself to adult education for dock workers while Sam tries to expand the family business amid a looming recession and doubts about Joe's readiness to lead. Liza seeks fresh beginnings after a romantic disappointment only to be swept up by a mysterious stranger and Harry reconsiders his plans to leave school when inspired by a new tutor. Old tensions resurface and new enemies emerge as the Hardacres face shifting loyalties questions of class and the fragile balance between ambition and family.
