Blue Heelers (season 6)

Blue Heelers season 6 is the sixth season of the Australian police drama series that aired in 1999 on the Seven Network. The season contains 43 episodes and continued to follow police officers at Mount Thomas police station. Senior Sergeant Tom Croydon remained the officer in charge while Constable Maggie Doyle continued as a central character. Probationary Constable Jack Lawson joined the team as a new character and had trouble soon after arriving in Mt Thomas with minor misdemeanours. The season dealt with various crimes and social issues affecting the rural Mount Thomas community including drug abuse and violent crimes. Dash's excitement at becoming a detective ended in despair and a life changing decision after her mother was killed in a car accident. She left the force after this traumatic event. Dash and Jack witnessed a horrifying double fatality involving two popular young locals. Dash's upset turned to anger when she discovered the car accident was not accidental. The season explored the personal lives of the officers showing their relationships families and the challenges of working in a small town where everyone knows everyone. The season maintained the series reputation for realistic portrayal of police work and community engagement while developing character arcs that kept viewers engaged throughout the year.
