We are going to the 25th century. About four hundred years have pass since today. The events are sending us to the distant future. The Earth as a planet became a representative of the space union. This organization is one of the most powerful in the space. There are about three thousand of various warships and exploration ships under the authority of Earthlings. The main hero, Ed Mercer, serves on one of them. He has been dreaming about military service since his childhood. Now his dream come true. Who would have thought that Ed would be appointed the head of the space ship Orville where his ex-wife were serving.
