In the beginning, Bruce Geller created and produced Mission: Impossible. The series chronicles the missions of a group of secret government agents called the Impossible Missions Force. During the first season, Dan Briggs plays the role of Dan Briggs; Jim Phelps plays the role of Jim Phelps after that. This series features a recording that shows Briggs or Phelps receiving his instructions, followed by the series' theme music composed by Lalo Schifrin. From September 1966 to March 1973, the series aired on CBS, and then returned to television from 1988 to 1990 on ABC, with only Graves in the cast.rn
