Power Book III: Raising Kanan (season 5)

Power Book III: Raising Kanan season 5 returns to 1991 when Supras are the preferred car and a fly shearling coat symbolizes status in the neighborhood. This final season sees Kanan Stark fully coming into his own as he steps out of his mother Raq's shadow. Raq runs the streets of Southside Jamaica, Queens with her brothers Marvin and Lou Lou while Kanan navigates a world of glamour and grit. Danger lurks around the corner with rival dealer Unique eyeing the family turf and Detective Malcolm Howard relentlessly harassing community members and getting under Raq's skin. Kanan has slowly learned the truth about his mother and himself over previous seasons and now his blinders are finally off. He knows exactly who he is and who he must become to defeat his enemies as his true ruthlessness takes shape. The Thomas family faces an existential crisis challenging their identity with Marvin trying to redeem himself, Raq finally coming clean, Lou wrestling with his own evil, and Jukebox attempting to break free from the family pathology. Kanan and Breeze build their own crime empire in Queens while Kanan seeks the killers of Crystal. After eliminating Unique and Rock, Kanan and Breeze take over illegal operations and become the number one gangsters of the neighborhood bringing the story of raising Kanan to its conclusion.
