Jake and the Fatman (season 1)

Jake and the Fatman is a crime drama television series that premiered on CBS in September 1987. The first season follows J.L. McCabe, a tough former Honolulu police officer nicknamed the Fatman, who has become the district attorney of Los Angeles with an outstanding conviction record thanks to his gruff manner and willingness to bend the rules. McCabe teams up with Jake Styles, a handsome and easygoing special investigator who frequently goes undercover to gather the evidence needed to prosecute criminals. Together Jake and the Fatman tackle various criminal cases involving blackmail, murder, and corruption while facing enemies created by McCabe's uncompromising approach to justice. The series combines legal drama with crime investigation elements as the duo works to bring culprits to court.
